FLORAL COUTURE

A growing trend in floral design is wearable floral art often known as botanical couture. Inspired by floral artists such as Hitomi Gilliam, Francoise Weeks, Daniel Ost, and Zita Elze, Riz has grown quite fond of highly detailed, textural work that he has expanded to floral fashion.

In early 2017, Debra Prinzing, the founder of Slow Flowers, commissioned Riz to do a design for the promotion of American Flowers Week. The project became a wonderful collaboration between Debra, her son Alexander Brooks, noted Seattle photographer Mary Grace Long and make up artist Yessie Libby.

Here is a photo shoot and some of the final photographs of their project. The design was featured in Florist Review Magazine's June 2017 Issue.
